The beautiful village of Oberbronn, clinging to the slopes of the Northern Vosges, was the capital of one of the most powerful lords of northern Alsace in the 18th century. The revived Swedish baron of Scottish descent Ludwig von Sinclair, Lord of Oberbronn from 1710 until his death in 1738, has set himself the goal in his new existence of introducing visitors to the unknown history and rich architectural heritage of Oberbronn. On a tour that begins in the listed Protestant church, the mischievous baron tells the story of the town from the Romans to the present day, taking you through picturesque alleyways and unusual places (the manorial court, the defence fortifications, the manorial lodge in the church, etc.). Visitors are reminded of personalities who have left their mark on the town (the painter Hansi, the folklorists Stoeber, the Counts of Oberbronn, the Polish King Stanislaus, etc.). A quirky and playful adventure!
