2ᵉ Biennial of Contemporary Art in Bischwiller: The World of the Living (until the end of September)
13.09.2025 All day
The 2nd Biennale presents twelve French and German artists with around thirty sculptures that question our relationship with nature and current environmental problems using a variety of materials (wood, stone, bronze, metal).
Admire the cast steel lions by Winfried Becker, the metal animal silhouettes by Sylvain Chartier and the openwork metal structures by René Dantes, in which light plays an essential role. Bruno Feger questions human dominance over nature with monumental fruits, while Gaëtan Gromer raises awareness of the erosion of the planet and Patrick Lang glorifies endangered species with majestic bronze figures.
Thomas Monin, who presents a pack of phosphorescent wolves, Yoshikazu Goulven Le Maître, who recycles materials to create hybrid fauna, and Karl Manfred Rennertz, who carves monumental antlers with a chainsaw, remind us of humanity's deep connection with the animal world.
Finally, Pierre Louis Peny will create a sandstone sculpture in real time, giving the public a unique insight into the creative process.
An event not to be missed that invites you to reflect on the future of living things.
