The Keschdefeschd is one of the highlights of the chestnut season and takes place in Annweiler in early October. The market stalls offer not only chestnut-based products such as chestnut honey, chestnut jam, and chestnut liqueur, but also regional bread, game, and cheese specialties, as well as jewelry and handicrafts. Festival-goers can also enjoy the taste of chestnuts in the food offerings, along with typical Palatinate specialties such as onion tart and new wine. A special event is scheduled for the Saturday of the festival: the coronation of the Chestnut Princess! The Keschdefeschd has been recognized as a “Palatinate Festival for Everyone.”
